STREET TRASH SURVEY FOR BRONX RIVER ALLIANCE
Join us as we continue our work with Bronx River Alliance that we started last year. In order to target where the trash polluting the river in coming from the BRA has begun to do “Street Trash Surveys.” During the survey, the teens will look at what is on the streets and sidewalks vs. what ends up in the river. This will help inform the outreach messaging that Bronx River Alliance does in different areas and hopefully allow them to find the places with the most trash to encourage municipalities to adopt more environmentally-friendly methods for capturing trash before it enters the river.
The Bronx River Alliance serves as a coordinated voice for the river and works in harmonious partnership to protect, improve and restore the Bronx River corridor so that it can be a healthy ecological, recreational, educational and economic resource for the communities through which the river flows.
